Rosalba and Tod
Rosalba:
I grew up in Commerce City, CO and took a huge leap as a first generation student and made my way to Fort Collins to attend college. Art was always a part of my life, but it was in high school when I started picking it up and doing it on my own. I love replicating a photograph or image but college has taught me so much more than I could ever have imagined. My main interest is colored pastels, I just love how messy you can get with this medium and the blending of colors. I chose to be in the Art Education program because I've always been a good teacher and see myself as a good role model. Why not put the two together? Thus Art Education is what I hope to get my degree in and discover alongside kids and students the power of art and expressing one's feelings. |
Tod:
I may have grown up in Colorado but I have always felt like Faribault, Minnesota was more of a home because my family and I spent summers up there with my Grandmother. My form of art making is in both aspects of 2-D and 3-D, I like to mostly make creatures. My main material is hard to say since I try to keep it open and be accepting of new ideas and forms. I have always loved making art and so I hope to inspire others as well. I really enjoyed working in the schools that I have previously student taught in, and I am excited to work with the 1st graders at Polaris this semester.
